James W. Louttit, M.D. (Retired)

Dr. Louttit was born in 1946 in West Palm Beach and moved to Orlando six months later. He went to Winter Park Elementary, Episcopal High School in Alexandria Virginia, and graduated from Hobart College with a B.A. in Biology in 1968. In 1969 he married Jane Hube from Farmington, Connecticut, after six months of Medical School. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis . His residency in Family Medicine was completed at the University of South Florida’s program at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach. Dr. Louttit moved back to Orlando in 1975 after his residency and went into practice with his family doctor, Ben M. Cole MD, on Columbia Avenue in Orlando. In 1976 he moved to Maitland and started Maitland Family Practice. He and Jane have a daughter, Lisa, who is in graduate school at CalArts in California and a son, Jay, who is teaching middle school outside of Atlanta. They have two grandchildren William and Lucy.
