About Maitland Family Practice
Maitland Family Practice was founded by Dr. Louttit in 1976. The physicians from the origin of the practice have felt medicine to be a calling not just a job. They see their patients as individual persons worthy of their respect and care.
Reaching out to the community has always been a concern of our practice.
The nurses and caregivers of Hospice of Central Florida, the first hospice in the Orlando area, met in the waiting room at our old office on Maitland Avenue with Dr. Louttit, the second Physician Director of the program.
In 1985 Dr. Waldheim joined him when he returned to Orlando from his resident training in Tallahassee. Dr.Waldheim has worked on mission trips where he shared God’s healing in Haiti, Peru, Guatemala, Kenya, and India. He and Dr. Louttit moved to our the new building on Lake Howell in 1987.
Dr. Pursley joined the original partners in 1997 after his residency at Florida Hospital Orlando. Dr. Pursley has worked tirelessly to improve medical care in Orlando and at Florida Hospital by participating in physician committees and leading departments of the medical staff. He is on the Board of Florida Hospital.
